KITING-KITA

In the show of the wild Catalonian group “Camut Band” the pounding of their drums and the tapping of their shoes becomes beating of our hearts. “Kiting Kita" is one of the most exciting and spectacular events in years. For more than an hour the “Camut” mix of several kinds of sounds: afro-jazz, tip-tap, jungle and flamenco thrills the audience. "Kiting Kita", as played by these six extraordinary talented men, is simply an overwhelming experience. It is a performance of dance and rhythm in its purest state.

"The Camut Band" was born in 1995 out the union of innovative dancers/choreographers, Rafael and Lluìs Mèndez, and inspirational percussionist, Toni Español. After their incredibly successful debut in 2001 in Barcellona they were invited to the Edinburgh “Fringe Festival”, where they received a five star rating from the critics. From there “La vida es ritmo” began to garner universal acclaim from critics worldwide. They wowed audiences and critics in New York, New Haven, Toronto, Hamburg and Taiwan. Due to the tremendous demmand, "Camut Band" has formed a second touring company . “La Vida Es Ritmo” was featured at the “Festival Grec” of Barcelona and to various social congresses in Morocco, Miami and Belgium. In 2003 and 2004 they returned to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, breaking attendance records and both times winning, once again, the critic's coveted five star award. "Camut Band", after having triumphed in the world’s most important festivals and theatres, presented recently “La Vida Es Ritmo” at the “Lyric Theatre” on London's West End. They have also played at first theatrical class venues in Germany, Austria and Denmark.

Their newest show "Kiting-Kita,Walking with Rhythm" premiered in 2006 in Barcelona.

"Camut Band" doesn't walk, it sprints to the beat of another drum and takes the audience along for the ride.

Tip-tap’s percussions’ precision
