Boul & Voice
“The bubble on water”
Boul is Frederic Zipperlin. He’s born artistically in 1989 in Canada in the famous Cirque du Soleil.
It’s there that the character of the ‘fool’ as grotesque and artificial figure developed. After three years of tourneè in US and Europe, Frederic Zipperlin was able to give to the character of Boul an own identity, so much that it made him famous until our days.
Boul isn’t only the follet, the creature who lives in a bubble, but he’s also an excellent juggler, so much that he won two times the Circus Festival in Paris. From here his name “the lord of the balls”. A Zipperlin’s peculiarity is his continuous experimenting in the attempt of translating innovative ideas into original performances. The innovation is the motor that gives him the skill to create new acts apparently without any effort. The artist develops continuously new ideas for the materials to be used.
In 1995 he created “the bubble on water” a huge transparent water’s bubble in which Boul trascends, literally, the elements. Another creation is the “white balls”, balls that variate from two to six metres, used for throwing of every kind.
These creations can be used individually in several performances and they opened up the street of the world of balls to all the other artists. The ability of melting unusual objects with the high art of the juggler makes the Boul’s shows an unforgettable experience.
